Common Questions
What medications are used in the program?
Where clinically appropriate, Dr Lim may prescribe medication as part of the program. The choice of medication depends on your health history, goals, and PBS eligibility, and Dr Lim will discuss the most appropriate option at your initial consultation.
How quickly will I see results?
Results vary from person to person and depend on the medication prescribed and how your body responds. Dr Lim will discuss a realistic goal with you at your initial consultation.
How is this different from getting a prescription from a GP?
No. A GP prescription provides the medication, but not the structured oversight, dietitian support, regular monitoring, or titration management that our program includes. Dr Lim's program is built around clinical outcomes, not just a prescription.
Is the program covered by Medicare or private health insurance?
Consultation fees with Dr Lim attract a Medicare rebate. Some medications may be available on the PBS depending on your diagnosis. We are happy to provide a full cost breakdown at your consultation.
Can I combine this with a gastric balloon?
Yes. In some cases, Dr Lim may recommend a combined approach using a gastric balloon alongside weight loss medication. This would be assessed and tailored to your individual situation.
